Hazel and I checked out Goose Lake in the kayak. We found some cool stuff and checked out lots of birds up close.

Pizza in the Great Majestic

The Majestic does it again! This stove can cook a pizza in about 6 minutes. For us it was a hot day, in the 70"s, and we didn't want to crank up the oven in the kitchen to make pizza so we did it outside. The stove heats up pretty quick and doesn't use a lot of wood. Might have to try shepherds pie or roasted vegetables next, maybe even bake a cake.

I finally got it up here and it works great. Aside from a few cosmetic issues and a funny smell when it gets choochin, I'm pleased with it's performance.

Might be a good recipe in a few years but today it's a bunch of lazy hens on my chair. 

Trailer and Trip

We finally made it home! Actually it was a great trip and we are very grateful to have such wonderful family to visit. Thank you to everyone who helped us with the trailer. It traveled very well and made the trip more relaxing. It was great to see all the generations of friends and family. The accommodations and cuisine while in Spokane were excellent at both parents houses. 

Everything is in excellent order at our house in anchorage. The garden and chickens are doing very well thanks to our neighbor Leslie. Hazel has been busy feeding bugs to the chickens and saying "I did it", she is very proud of herself. We  hope to see all of you up here someday, it's just a short drive or an even shorter flight.
